Step one in the leadership development process is to assess the level of competence, identify potential and determine areas of development. Assessment is important, as it helps to provide a starting point and later a measure of the effectiveness of the training.

The HR Department of G4S has already, or is in the process of, doing various assessments.  To keep costs down, we propose that, where relevant, the results of these assessments be used rather than a whole new battery of tests and assessments.

Assessments about leadership style, roles, motivation and other relevant assessments, will then be included in the workshops.

We therefore only require one day for short  interviews (30 minutes per participant) plus interviews with participants’ manager/s.  The focus here will be mainly to get general views on ability and developmental needs that should be addressed in the training.
