Why mentoring?

Mentoring has been proven to be the most effective way to ensure stickiness of training, and is crucial to ensure sustainable behavioural change. Fastfwd can assist with the design and implementation of a formal mentoring programme to be implemented through the organization to continue the learning process for the workshop participants, but also for the participants to ‘pay it forward’ and ensure these learnings are passed to other employees.

Internal mentors:

Participants are also encouraged to identify and approach internal mentors to assist them with their individual developmental programmes. This happens in month 3 of the training programme. It is important that these internal company mentors be trained to properly act as mentors if they haven’t been trained before.

Training will include:

  • the role of a mentor
  • mentorship needs
  • cross-gender and cross-cultural dynamics
  • challenges in mentoring
  • developing a mentor agreement and plan
  • boundaries in mentor relationships
  • different mentorship models, etc.

A full curriculum is available should the company decide to go ahead.

  • Fastfwd can also act as advisors to HR, who should be the programme owners
  • Mentoring guidance follow-up:  as required at a cost of R7500 per day or R500 per hour
